Today’s generation is experiencing things that others have never encountered before, and in the coming days, we need to discover the wonders of God to keep forging ahead. When we come to a fork in the road, we must decide if we will go back and recreate the past or focus on what God has imagined for our future. He wants to do something new in your life, and it is essential in this season to have the imagination of a child, to rediscover His wondrous works designed just for YOU. He wants you to begin to miraculously “walk on water” in areas of your life. You can sharpen yourself and get to a place in which you operate at a higher level because you’re maturing, growing, and progressing in Him, one step at a time. Sometimes, it’s the small steps that can either make a turn for the better or turn our lives upside down. In these moments, we must endeavor to move from our comfort zones and begin to look toward Him, remembering that He mercifully has us in the palm of His hands.
Nehemiah 9:17, NKJV, says, “They refused to obey, And they were not mindful of Your wonders that You did among them.” The word “wonder” means to notice, marvel, or be amazed. Another definition describes wonder as a feeling of surprise mingled with admiration caused by something beautiful, unexpected, or inexplicable. Mary felt surprise when the angel spoke to her and said, “Mary, you have nothing to fear. God has a surprise for you.” The birth of Jesus was that surprise, the wondrous work that God assigned for her life—to give birth to Jesus and be His mother. He is the God of surprise. Just like He wanted to surprise Mary and allow her to experience the wondrous gift of Jesus, He wants you to experience His wondrous works in your life.
God wants you to be surprised by something beautiful, unexpected, or inexplicable! Ask yourself if you can do everything that you’re currently doing on your own; then identify what you can do only with God’s help. God uses things that seem impossible, strange, or even uncomfortable to stretch us past our comfort zone to achieve things we never imagined possible. Experiencing God’s wonder leads us to do things beyond our own ability.
God has performed wondrous miracles in the midst of a famine. He is a wondrous deliverer; He delivered Daniel from the lions’ den (Daniel 6:19-22) and delivered Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego from the fiery furnace (Daniel 3:23-27). God can do something wondrous and supernatural in our lives when we are willing to step out, take a risk, and have faith in Him. Our Father is a wondrous God and you can experience His mighty hand today. You can experience things unlike any you’ve ever seen because He specializes in reviving dead circumstances and doing the impossible. Why does He do these things? Simply because He is still God. Allow Him to show you His wondrous works and revive dead situations in your life. Whether your marriage is strained or that mountain of debt seems impossible to manage, God is a deliverer and can breathe new life into those situations. He can cause them to resurrect and be fervently strong. God is willing and ready to do wondrous acts for you!
